How can Spotify spread positivity by using technology to bring listeners closer to the creators and communities they love?
Challenge
For the Cannes Future Lions 2024 competition I developed a concept that utilized technology to connect a global audience with Spotify’s vast network of creators and communities. The idea had to address real needs and opportunities, focusing on enhancing the user experience while aligning with Spotify’s mission of unlocking creative potential.
Solution
Based on research into Gen Z and Millennials, I discovered that authenticity and a higher purpose are key values for these audiences. In response, I created Spotify Campfire Sessions, a unique digital experience that brings artists and fans together in an intimate, interactive setting. Users can engage in real-time through virtual lighters, hearts, and applause, creating a shared, authentic connection.
Fans can influence live performances by voting for songs and asking questions, while artists can dedicate their sessions to charitable causes, making the experience both meaningful and interactive. Spotify Campfire Sessions is where music meets purpose, offering a space for genuine connection.
