Brief
Creative Shift, part of the University of the Arts London, aims to support students from underrepresented backgrounds in the creative industries. Our task was to design a product or service that fosters community building in a hybrid environment while also increasing Creative Shift’s outreach.
Challenge
Through research and conversations with students and staff, we discovered that Creative Shift lacked a permanent physical space, which made it difficult for students to connect with each other and with staff.
Solution
We designed a virtual campus that breaks down physical barriers and creates an accessible, inclusive space for students to engage with each other and industry professionals. The campus features rooms for socializing, mentorship, and staff meetings, all easily accessible from anywhere. Our solution not only supports students with disabilities or time constraints but also fosters stronger connections across the Creative Shift community. Alongside this, we developed a communication strategy to promote the platform and increase participation, ensuring Creative Shift’s message reaches more students.
